The small parts that keep water where it belongs
Even a perfectly built frameless shower relies on a few small parts to stay watertight. Shower door seals — also called sweeps, wipes, drip rails or water deflectors — are the clear vinyl and polycarbonate strips that close the gaps around your glass. Centennial Glass supplies and installs the full range, matched to your hinges and hardware finish. We’ve been Ottawa’s glass company since 1967 and install more than 1,000 showers a year, so we know exactly which seal each door and panel needs.
Types of Shower Door Seals

Bottom Sweep & Wipe
A clear vinyl seal that clips onto the bottom edge of the door, closing the gap to the curb or floor so water runs back into the shower.

Drip Rail (Deflector)
An angled rail along the bottom of a swing door that catches runoff and channels it back inside instead of onto the bathroom floor.

Side & Jamb Seal
A flexible fin that seals the vertical gap where the glass meets the wall, stopping spray from escaping at the hinge or wall side.

Center / Magnetic Seal
Magnetic strips that pull two glass edges together — where a door meets a fixed panel or another door — for a clean, watertight closure.

Bulb Seal
A rounded seal that compresses to fill a larger or uneven gap along a glass edge — common on sliding and tub enclosures.
Does a frameless shower leak?
A well-designed enclosure with the right seals stays dry. The trick is matching the correct sweep, rail or wipe to each door and panel, and pitching the curb so water drains inward — the kind of detail our installers handle on every job. Seals do wear over time, so if yours are cracked, curled or letting water through, we can replace them. For more, see our glass shower FAQ.
