Frameless Pivot Door Questions

What is a frameless pivot door?

A frameless pivot door is a single glass door that rotates on a pivot hinge at the top and bottom rather than side hinges. The pivot point lets a larger, heavier panel swing smoothly, making it a good fit for a wide, frameless opening.

What’s the difference between a pivot door and a hinged swing door?

A hinged door pivots on hinges fixed to a wall or panel along one edge; a pivot door turns on a pin set slightly in from the edge, so part of the door swings inward as the rest swings out. Pivots handle wider, heavier glass and give a distinctive, high-end look.

Can a pivot door open both inward and outward?

Yes — most frameless pivot doors are set to swing both ways, which makes entry easy and keeps water inside the enclosure. We confirm the swing and pivot position for your space before fabricating.

What glass and hardware finishes are available?

Every enclosure is made from thick frameless tempered safety glass, paired with your choice of hardware finish — chrome, brushed nickel, matte black and more — and matching hinges. For help deciding, see our custom shower cost guide.
