Inline Swing Door And Panel Questions

What is an inline swing door and panel?

An inline swing door and panel places a hinged door and one or more fixed glass panels in a single straight line along one wall. The fixed panel fills the extra width so the door itself stays a practical size.

When do I need a panel instead of just a door?

When the opening is wider than a single door can safely span (roughly beyond 34″), a fixed panel beside the door fills the gap. The door stays light and easy to swing while the panel closes off the rest of the opening.

Are the door and panels all in one straight line?

Yes — “inline” means every piece sits flat along the same wall, with no corner or return. It’s the simplest layout for a straight alcove that’s wider than a standard door.

What glass and hardware finishes are available?

Every enclosure is made from thick frameless tempered safety glass, paired with your choice of hardware finish — chrome, brushed nickel, matte black and more — and matching hinges. For help deciding, see our glass shower FAQ.

Why choose Centennial Glass for a shower enclosure?

Every enclosure is cut and fabricated in our own Ottawa shop and backed by a 2-year workmanship guarantee — double the industry-standard one year. As one customer told us: “From the initial booking to the final installation, the staff at Centennial Glass were prompt, friendly and knowledgeable.” — Emma Grace, 5★.
